Hamlet'S Treatment Of Ophelia Essay Make Up Homework

Hamlet has a strong dislike and utter distrust of woman because of his personal devastation he faced with his Gertrude’s quick decision and incestuous encounter. It may well be that Hamlet is aware that he is under observation which may explain the cryptic nature of the soliloquy, but that's another subject.Ophelia is presented as the vision of piety, engrossed in her prayer vigil. But as the play develops we see this relationship suffer some great dents. s role in Hamlet is to show us how Hamlets insanity develops, her actions are a big part of what drives Hamlet mad.Because when she marries his uncle so soon after his fathers death Hamlet feels she is acting in such a betraying way that he is almost incapable of forgiving her.Abominably.“Hamlet” is a magnificent play, but no play is perfect. To my mind, the biggest problem with the play is that we are not given an sufficient explanation for Hamlet’s miserable treatment of Ophelia. And yet because of his mother Hamlet mistrusts women in general and treats them as vile and untrustworthy creatures.Ophelia, Hamlet's true love, is doomed in her relationship from the moment Hamlet takes on the task of revenge.Hamlet's first words to her are a request for her to remember his sins in her prayers. Other terms that jump out are "remember" and "sins".Their opening lines to each other are distant and formal which is a bit of a suprise given what we have heard about this budding romance.
